Veracity designed, implemented and manages Cancer Council Queensland’s (CCQ) Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS supports over 265 staff and more than 2000 volunteers. Veracity’s support of CCQ through implementation of this learning management system has put us in good standing as a major partner, and has allowed CCQ to undertake important community projects such as the refurbishment of its cancer patient lodges.
Just last week, our CEO Bill Owens and GM Workforce Development Nathan Volk toured the Charles Wanstall Apex lodge, located in Herston. The lodge is one of CCQ’s 6 accommodation lodges offering a place to call home for regional cancer patients and their care givers, who need to travel to Brisbane for life saving cancer treatment. The Herston lodge opened in 1983 and has 35 self-contained units ranging from studio apartments to three-bedroom family units, accommodating around 70 patients and carers each night. This is a vital facility, with occupancy rates averaging 95 per cent each year.
Our partnership with CCQ started five years ago, and Veracity is proud to continue as major partner of Cancer Council Queensland. It is great to see our contribution manifested in the refurbishment of CCQ’s lodges which are such an important part of cancer treatment for so many Queenslanders.
