Our Community

Today’s IT platform has the power to scale – locally, nationally and globally.

At a minimum, an effective business IT platform connects staff with in-house information to drive productivity.

More advanced IT platforms connect and engage customers with the business to enhance profitability.

It connects vendors with the business to improve efficiencies.

But more than anything, today’s cloud based IT platform has the power to build and connect communities.

Veracity’s purpose is to design and build IT Platforms that create scalable communities.

Veracity & Cancer Council Queensland: A Partnership for Life

One in two Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.

Cancer Council Queensland (CCQ) is Queensland’s leading non-government, community-based organisation in cancer control. Since 1961, CCQ has focused on raising funds dedicated to eliminating cancer and reducing suffering from cancer through research, treatment, patient care, prevention and early detection.

Veracity Business Solutions this year embarks on a long term partnership with CCQ which will see Veracity become a major partner. Veracity has been providing IT services to CCQ for three years, and we are very pleased to be taking our support to the next level with this partnership.

Veracity will be supporting CCQ’s Cancer Counselling Service, which provides psychological support to people affected by cancer through counselling and Living Mindfully programs. CCQ offers face-to-face counselling in Cairns, Townsville, Gold Coast and Brisbane, as well as a monthly visiting service for people with cancer and their families in Mackay and Bundaberg, and a fortnightly visiting clinic to the Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba.

In 2014, CCQ’s Cancer Counselling Service provided over 3,600 hours of support to people through counselling and Living Mindfully, and supported 1,494 people across the state. If you or someone close to you would benefit from accessing this service, simply contact CCQ on 13 11 20.

Veracity will also continue to provide IT Services to CCQ, one of the growing number of not-for-profit organisations that utilise Veracity’s services.

Veracity & The Community

The Veracity Way

Phil Ban, one of our technicians based in Townsville, recently entered the Variety Billy Cart Dash which is an annual event which raises money for sick children across Queensland. This year it was held at Jezzine Barracks and attracted over 1500 spectators.

Phil and his team the ‘Spider Monkeys’ raised over $500 to contribute to the cause and reached a top speed of 32km/hr – the fastest of the day.

Phil Ban recently competed in a yearly Enticer Triathlon consisting of a 400m swim, 15km bike ride and a 2.5km run.

Phil first took interest in the sport a couple of years back, but was mainly doing dualathlons (swim/run or swim/ride). He decided this year to check a proper triathlon off his to-do list.

Phil began training for the event 10 weeks prior, so he prepared well. The swim was the most challenging section but he managed to make up a lot of time on the bike ride and run, catching up to the other competitors for a strong finish.
