Board of Directors
Although Veracity is a privately held company, it is overseen by a Board of Directors which provides governance, compliance, risk and strategy direction to the management team.
The Veracity Board of Directors meets monthly.
Tony Kelly | Chairman
Veracity’s Chairman is Tony Kelly who has over 25 years’ experience as a business leader in Queensland. He is a qualified lawyer having graduated from the University of Queensland in 1984.
In 1987 Tony commenced with the Carter and Spencer Group where he remained until 2004, having been appointed a director from 1992.
Tony has been involved in the fresh produce industry for over 20 years. He is also a former director and president of Brismark and director and vice president of the Australian Chamber of Fruit and Vegetable Industries Limited.
Tony retired from his role as chairman of the Brisbane Lions after 12 years’ service on that Board.
Bill Owens | Director & Chief Executive Officer
Bill Owens is an director on Veracity’s Board of Directors. He brings to the board 25 years international business experience in the telecoms and technology sectors having served on publicly unlisted, private company, government and not-for-profit boards.
Bill has experience in a range of industry sectors including technology, hospitality, education, performing arts, consulting and government.
He holds a bachelor degree (honours) in arts from the University of Queensland as a graduate diploma in business administration from the Queensland University of Technology.
Bill is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
Liza Cronje | Board Member
Liza Cronje serves on the Veracity Board of Directors. She has 18 years’ experience as an accountant in South Africa and Australia and holds a bachelor degree in accountancy.
She gained valuable experience in auditing multimillion dollar clients, particularly in the banking and finance industries while working at several Chartered Accounting firms in South Africa.
Liza also managed her own tax and accounting practice for small businesses in South Africa.
She is currently enrolled in the Chartered Accountancy course in Australia.
